The Patounis family has been making handcrafted soap for five generations in Greece, specifically at the island of Corfu. They started their business in 1850 and built their current soap factory in 1891. The plant has retained nearly all its original equipment that the family still uses in producing their renowned soap. The Patounis Soap Works factory is one of the very few remaining traditional soap factories in the world and is listed with the Greek Ministry of Culture as a monument of industrial archeology.
Soap at the Patounis factory is handcrafted using the centuries-old traditional process. Local olive farmers provide the fresh and rich olive oil that the Patounis family is using in their soap. The only other materials used in the process are soda, sea salt, and water. There are absolutely no additives and the process is completely natural & friendly to the environment. The soap is 100% pure, 100% natural, 100% vegan, 100% biodegradable and 100% fragrance-free.
